Days after Pakistan launched airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Paktika province on December 25, 2024, killing 46 people, Afghan forces retaliated by targeting several points inside Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of 19 Pakistani soldiers.
However, recently a 17 seconds long video of a plane crashing is being shared as a Pakistani Airforce chopper crashing being shot down by the Afghan forces.

However, Fact Crescendo’s findings show that an old video of a chopper crashed in Gwadar on 3 September 2023, Balochistan has been shared with false claims that a Pakistani air force plane was shot down by Afghan Taliban forces recently.
Fact Check
As per latest media reports the conflict situation at Pakistan-Afghanistan border has further escalated since Pakistani airstrike in Afghanistan and the retaliation of Afghan forces. Casualties also have been reported on both sides.
However, there are no media reports regarding any such incident of a Pakistani airforce plane getting shot down by Afghan Taliban Forces.
For further investigation, we applied Google reverse search on the key fragments from the shared clip. The search led us to a youtube video shared by Hindustan Times a year ago in September 2023.
The caption of the youtube video mentioned that A Pakistan Navy helicopter crashed in the southwestern port city of Gwador in Balochistan, killing three crew members. The Pakistan Navy said in a statement that “the helicopter crashed during the flight due to a possible technical fault.”
An article published by NDTV also shared a screenshot from the clip and mentioned that 3 Pakistani Navy Personnel were killed in the chopper crash on 3 September 2023.
Conclusion
Hence, from the above investigation, it is clear that an old video of a Pakistani Chopper crash in Gwadar has been falsely shared as a Pakistani airforce plane shot down by Afghan Taliban forces recently. The video of the Plane Crash dates back to 3 September 2024 when the crash killed 3 Navy personnel.
