However several images and videos are being shared among social media users with context to the recent Pakistani airstrikes strikes in Afghanistan and the reported Afghan forces retaliations.

“Pakistani forces destroyed an Afghan Taliban T-62 tank across the border using long range guided artillery. The tank was allegedly being transported closer to the Pakistani border by Taliban forces.”
However, Fact Crescendo’s findings show that an image of a destroyed Russian T-62 Tank is shared as an Afghan Taliban Tank destroyed by Pakistani forces.

As per latest media reports the conflict situation at Pakistan-Afghanistan border has further escalated since Pakistani airstrike in Afghanistan and the retaliation of Afghan forces. Casualties also have been reported on both sides.
Further, We applied Google reverse search for our investigation and this led us to a website named The Ukraine Israel on 9 August 2024 and according to the published article, the image was taken after Ukraine had captured 11 Russian Sattlements and destroyed at least 2 Russian T-62 battle tanks.

Hence, from the above investigation, it is clear that the image does not show an Afghan Taliban Tank destroyed by Pakistani forces in a recent series of retaliations at the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The image actually shows a T-62 Russian tank destroyed by Ukraine.
