The Shafaqna News Agency and the RTA Dari claimed in their reports that the Esfandi village is in the Jaghori district of the Ghazni province of Afghanistan. However, Esfandi village being in Ghazni province is not in Jaghori district. Here are the facts…

On February.15.2021, the Shafaqna News Agency and the RTA Dari in their reports claimed that the Esfandi village is a part of the Jaghori district of Ghazni province of Afghanistan.

Fact Check

We checked Google maps and we found the claim made by these media houses inaccurate. The Esfandi village is not in the Jaghori district, it is a village in the Ghazni district of Afghanistan. Facebook post published by MRRD on February.15.2021, states clearly that the village is located in the Ghazni district of Afghanistan. As well the comments received on the RTA Dari's post also emphasize the fact that Esfandi village is about 8 kilometers far away from the Jaghori district.

Conclusion: Esfandi village is in Ghazni province but not in Jaghori district as claimed by RTA Dari and Shafaqna News agency but in Ghazni district of the province.
