A heart wrenching video of a flood rescue operation has been widely shared on social media claiming that the video is from a recent flood rescue operation to help the flood affected people in Baluchistan Pakistan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing the above video, the tweet claims that six people including commander lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ali were martyred in a flood rescue operation while helping the flood affected people of Baluchistan recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 However, Fact Crescendo’s findings show that the claim is misleading as the shared video is not from the recent flood rescue operation from Baluchistan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact check;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started our investigation by splitting the video into key frames and then applying Google reverse image search on the key frames. While investigating, we found that this video is not from any recent flood rescue operation held in Baluchistan as claimed in the Twitter post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our investigation, we found that the same video was posted by an Afghan journalist named Mustafa Kazimi<\/a> on 4 June 2022. The tweet thread reads as; ‘Backstory on the Kandahar helicopter flood rescue.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last tweet in the thread, Mustafa included a link and screenshot of the video dated March 4, 2019. The screenshot reads as; ‘flash flooding in Afghanistan left dozens dead.’

Hence, it is clear that the shared video is not from the flood rescue operations from Baluchistan recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the above investigation, it is clear that that Twitter post is misleading as the shared video is not from any flood rescue operation held in Baluchistan recently. The original video is from Kandahar from flood rescue operations held in March 2019 after devastating floods hit the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t
