The video is from 7 June 2022 during a football match for the Nations League between Germany and England at the Allianz Arena in Munich not from FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.

With the start of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, social media is also the subject of discussions about football matches. There has been some misinformation, as well as news from the stadium.

The 42-second video shows a young football fan flying a paper plane from the galleries to the football field. Fans cheered as the plane flew through the air. Finally, it landed inside the goalpost. Users sharing the video claimed it was from Qatar with the caption “This is an unbelievable goal!!! #FIFAWorldCup#FIFAWorldCup2022#FIFAWorldCupQatar2022 #FIFA #GoalOfTheDay”

However, upon further investigation, we discovered that this video has nothing to do with the FIFAWorld Cup football match.

According to the report, on 7 June 2022 during a football match for the Nations League between Germany and England at the Allianz Arena in Munich, a spectator threw a paper plane from the stands to the stadium. Then, the small plane flew for several seconds before landing in the nets of the English goalkeeper.

This video was widely shared on social media shortly after the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. On December 1, USA TODAY Sports posted the same video to its Twitter account, with the caption “This guy has aim! A fan turned his admissions ticket into a paper airplane at the match between Germany and England at Munich’s Allianz Arena.”
