A number of social media users shared a video and claimed that children in Afghanistan are taught how to use weapons in Afghanistan’s schools.
In this video, a number of children in a classroom are seen packing their weapons.
A user tweeted this video on February 16 and described it as the video of Afghan`s children military training in Arabic language. It is stated that the Taliban teach Afghan children how to use weapons in schools. The user also said that children are used for terrorist purposes.
Later on, another user also published this video on February 17. The video is described as: “Taliban training children to use Weapons in schools in Afghanistan”.
However, our investigation found that this video is from a school in China. Here are our findings.
Fact Check
We did a Google reverse image search on the screenshots taken from the viral video. The results of the search showed us that the video is actually from China.
Wall Street Wolverine tweeted this video on February 15, 2023. Simultaneously with the publication of this video, it has been said in Spanish language that children in China are being taught self-defense.
Libs of Vorz YouTube channel also published this video on February 21, 2023. In the description of this video, it is said: “Lately, there has been a circulating TikTok video online from a user xaun_xs, titled “That’s China” which includes deleted clips. The footage features real Chinese children captured in their daily routines while assembling guns provided to them by the PLA”.
In addition, the children seen in this video are wearing military uniforms. By examining the video, we found that this military uniform is also from the Chinese army.
The website of a Chinese business company published some photos of this uniform and said that it is originated in China.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has also worn this uniform many times. BBC published one of Mr. Xi Jinping’s pictures on April 21, 2016. In this picture, the President of China can be seen wearing this uniform.

In the video, we can hear someone in the background speaking in Chinese. Thus, we can be sure that this video is from China.
Conclusion
From our investigation, it is clear that the video is not from Afghanistan but China. The video is being falsely shared as military training in Afghan schools.
