On Thursday, June 8, 2023, an explosion occurred at the funeral ceremony of Mawlavi Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, the deputy governor of the Taliban, at the Nabawi Mosque in Faizabad, Badakhshan. As a result, 13 people lost their lives, while 30 others sustained injuries. The explosion took place before noon.
Based on published reports, Safiullah Samim, the former Taliban commander for Baghlan and a number of local Taliban officials were killed.

Another user named Anees Ur Rehman, who introduces himself as a journalist, has also published this image. The caption of the post says: “Badakhshan blast killed many people in today's funeral prayer of late Deputy Governor Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi”.
On the other hand, a number of Arabic language users have also reported the explosion in the Nabawi Mosque in Badakhshan by publishing these images.
