Recently an image has been widely shared on social media claiming that it is of the Hazara killed by Taliban in a genocide.
However, Fact Crescendo’s findings show that an unrelated image has been shared out of context.

Let us find out the truth behind the viral claim and the image!

In order to find out the truth behind the social media claims and the image shared, we did a Google reverse image search on the shared image. During investigation, we found that Image shows the victims of Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire during first World war, not Hazara victims of Genocide in Afghanistan when thousands of Armenians were tortured and killed.

The description given on the stock website Alamy, also confirms that the image actually shows the victims of Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire during First World War.
Conclusion;
From the above investigation, it is clear that an unrelated image has been shared out of context. The people shown in the image were Armenian victims of Genocide in Ottoman Empire during the First World War, not Hazara from Afghanistan.
